Saying Goodbye to a Job I Loved

Moving on, with fond memories.

I just handed in my resignation letter. Two more weeks to finish up some projects and help my employer transition to life without me. They’ll be fine; never overestimate your own importance.

I’ll keep this one short. The people over at CGM are amazing. It’s meaningful work — providing the software that’s used by the majority of European general practitioners, pharmacies, and hospitals.

It was also highly challenging. The organization came fresh out of a major lay-off in its service department when I started. We didn’t have enough developers, we had too many products, and not enough support staff to manage it all.

Three and a half years later, things are still not perfect. But I leave CGM a much better place than I found it. We achieved ‘calm waters’. And we’re finally looking to the future with our streamlined product portfolio, up-to-par manpower, and an internal organization that allows us to pivot when necessary.

I’m proud of what we’ve achieved!

A new challenge with Heroes Corp awaits. I’ll join the associate partners in making a meaningful impact in sustainability projects with our clients in the energy-, public-, and healthcare spaces.
